Hi Art
mabrook & congratulations

Plaedes , orions nebulae & andromeda , spring immediately to mind , at =
good'n low magnifications=20
makes it a lot easier to point .
I use my ever so umble 114mm ( sounds bigger than 4'n abit inch )tasco =
with widefield microscope objectives as the stuff it came with strangles =
the view ,& makes it nigh on frustrating .
Saturn & Jup will be nice easy targets & test out your tracking as the =
mag goes higher . But in the end It's always the beauty of Orion & =
Plaedes that drags my gear out this weather .
Got a lovely 25X20 russian which is dead handy for spotting , after the =
binos have found somethin interesting .

whats next CCDs & computer tracking=20
=20
Chris Marriots skymap's pretty good as well ( skymap.com? )
happy viewing

  Dear List,=20

      Got a beautiful Bushnell 675X4.5 inch telescope for Christmas. It =
was=20
  quite a thrill since I've longed to own a telescope since childhood.=20

      As this is all so new to me, I would appreciate any advice, tips, =
etc.=20
  that will enable me to get the most out of my scope.=20

  I'm sure I won't be discovering any new planets anytime soon, but I =
should be=20
  able to see Saturn's rings, right? When I do, I know it's gonna knock =
my=20
  socks off.=20

      Hope to hear from some of you (list postings will be fine, because =
I'm=20
  sure others will benefit, too) astronomers and novices, alike. =
Thanks, Art=20
  Scarselli.=20
