Re: FUYU

This is some more information of the Songyuan (Fuyu Meteorites).
According to the report of China's geography mine newspaper, In the
afternoon of August,15,1993, The countryside of Songyuan city, Jilin
privince fell suddenly meteorites rain, 4 meteorites were collected. The
biggest one weighs 28kg, and the smallest one weighs 2.5kg. it can be seen
in the site, when the biggest meteorite fell in the ground, inserted in the
earth for 60cm, the radius of the meteorite pit is 20cm. It is estimated
that the fallen area is about 10 square km, and some meteorite maybe in the
field. The specility think about that this time meteorites falling is same
type with the meteorites falling in Jilin city, 1976, They all belong to
stone meteorite. These meteorites have many faces cubic shape, the faces of
them have black crust as they falling in high temperature. These meteorites
are collected in Fuyu district museum of Songyuan city.
Sincerely Yours,
Bob Yew
