Hi folks. I have been lurking in the background, but careless use of
terminology and poor communications (including sloppy "news reporting")
sets me off.
"Bolide" means explosion (you should look it up). It is not a correct
synonym for a fireball. "Orbital?" Some relatively few physical masses
from "out there" skirt the Earth's atmosphere and take up a quasi-orbit
(the 1913 "Chant trace" being a prime example.) No obvious reason to
think "orbital" in this case.
The current case in question sounds like a possibly interesting
fireball, and eyewitness reports are much to be desired. --Richard Hall
