Any info on Withrow or Washougal????

Hello List,
University of Washington Professor Anthony Irving has located most of the
Washington State meteorites for a soon-to-open exhibit at the Burke Museum.
A couple of specimens -- Washougal and a slice of Withrow -- have not yet
been found. Any info on the whereabouts of either specimen would be
appreciated.

Subject: Where is Washougal?

Steve:

I'm not getting many answers as to the whereabouts of the main
mass of the Washougal howardite. I am beginning to think that it cannot
be found at the University of Oregon. Perhaps it has been borrowed, and
someone on the meteorite list might know something.

Another question about a Washington meteorite concerns the Withrow Iron.
William Read cut a small slice from this specimen, as documented in his
1967 Meteoritics article, but it is not among the specimens left by him at
Lawrence University, Wisconsin after his death. Who has the slice of
Withrow? Because this iron has not been chemically classified, it would
be nice to use a corner of the slice for analysis (by John Wasson) and to
document its present location for research and exhibit purposes.
