Re: Norton County Witness

Dear List and Mr. Blood:

When I first read this email post, I took it as in the "atmosphere" of
the posting a couple of weeks ago. The one where the man in Texas was
having a hard time scraping the burnt, black layer off this rock he had
found. I should have taken it in a more serious light.

After reading the Norton Co. email some more, I realize that the author
probably didn't witness the fall. By the time he had heard the sonic
boom, the event could have been seconds or even minutes before that.
Rather, he witnessed the aftermath. The contrails left were probably
"s" shaped and backward "s's" that intermingled at various layers in the
atmosphere. (Thanks Mr. Grondine).

So, I think my question (or comment) to Mike has been answered and I
apologize for my sketicism and warped sense of humor.

Thanks all,
Dave Andrews
