RE: HaH 237

Listees,
HaH 237 was originally classified as an HC. There was discussion that it
may be a brachinite, but it looks like a class called bencubbinites will be
formed. I am waiting for further details.
I will be reposting the photo of specimen that I had the opportunity to
photograph in the near future, but do not expect to have any for sale.

I have been curious about the Hammada al Hamra 237 CH chondrite
now being offered by the Swiss Meteorite Lab
 http://www.meteorite.ch/hotdes1.htm >.

Granted that we have only a small sampling of asteroid material
in the meteorites we find, but still, this sample must be causing
scientists to scratch their heads.

The picture at SML shows what looks like a metal or metallic
chondrite.

Does anyone have any comments from researchers who have studied this?

PS:
a 3 million dollar meteorite?!!? That should finance another trip
to the desert... I can see it now, the new frontier, thousands of
folk flocking to deserts with metal detectors. Maybe it's time to
start investing in camels;-)
