Hello jj,
You might want to check cnn.com and the other news services -- not
exactly a back page story. Seems to be a navigation system failure.
Meteorite theories tend to be part of an "anything from... to..."
statement and the more glamorous comment gets air time. Of course, a
micrometeoroid might have knock out the system, but anything short of
retrieval and inspection is pure speculation. Asteroids and meteoroids
tend to obliterate things rather than cause them to drift.
