Re: Duncan Steel Speaks Out page up
In the early eighties I thought that the 'asteroid that killed off the
dinosaurs' was a fabulous explanation, though it did leave some
unsettling questions with regard to the survival of other species. I
have since favored the idea that it was a rather mischievious,
egotistical virus, cloning itself (OK now I'm stretching it)
reproducing itself with total disregard for mores and with such wanton
abandon as to easily overcome it's target - the unlucky fellow, the
dinosaur. I say egotistically because one must admit, it was a major
undertaking. The only thing left in common with the asteroid theory is
that it could be said the little buggers were' reaching for the
stars.' Let's hope these virulent creatures do not target us. In all
seriousness, the fact that the catastrophe was species-specific never
let me settle on the asteroid theory. What do you think? jj
Matt - this was in response to some info Victor Noto sent this morning.
