Hi Al,
Indochinites are found in across most of the South East Asian area as well
as the islands of the Pacific off the Asian continent. The tektites of
Australia have generally also been included in the strewnfield, but that's
another topic. Oceanic cores and samples indicate that the area includes a
large portion of the Indian Ocean as well. In the past large amounts of
indochinites came out of Thailand, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Laos, and
Cambodia. Today the new arrivals on the market are coming more from
provinces in China. Tibet has also been claimed as a source and I would
love to believe it is, however there is still question about whether they
were transported there for their significance in metaphysics and are now
coming back out. Quantities have always been very small and basically only
one or two individuals were responsible for Tibetan tektite export.
Small numbers of indochinites have been found in Malaysia, Java, and the
other islands.
Moung Noug layered tektite has been found in other countries but comes
mostly from Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
Hope this helps.
