When I broached the subject of the possibility of extraterrestrial icefalls
to Alan Rubin of UCLA (since there was supposedly a very recent one in
Brazil), his comments were to the effect that "when ice falls from the sky,
it is time to make icecream". In other words, his view was that any
extraterestrial connection with icefalls is fatuous at best.
Occasionally ice does fall from the sky, but like UFOs, you don't have to
look far to find a rather mundane explanation.
