Common hog weed which is rather 'uncommon' here in Michigan gets to a maximum of 6 feet tall, it truly is stunning with it's big tabletop size flowers and huge leaves. Giant hog weed, invasive here in the states, is huge! By mid summer the plants are 6 - 12 feet tall and are easily identified. I can't speak accurately for the rest of the country but here in Mich the Giant variety is extremely rare. I have 5 trucks on the road all summer long, out ridding the good people of our state of their poison ivy and other noxious and/or invasive plants. In all the years doing this we've only seen giant hog weed once. So if you find yourself out looking for a piece of the Hamburg meteorite don't worry too much about hog weed, but be very aware of the ubiquitous poison ivy! Sincerely, Larry Atkins ?
