I received many replies to this post, mostly in regards to Smokey. It seems
many List members also prospect for gold and have read or heard about
legendary Smokey.

We talked for hours about treasure hunting at the Shell gas station and the
real treasure was simply meeting him. He kind of reminds me of "Curly", the
tough cowboy on the movie City Slickers, The Legend of Curly's Gold..
