Forgive me if someone already posted this one -

Scientists have discovered a "new" impact crater basin in Australia
that is 250 miles wide. The impact is believed to have occurred
approx. 300 million years ago. The impact remnant is 1.2 miles
underground and scarred into the ancient, underlying bedrock.
