The event will take place in Building 8 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., and be broadcast live on NASA Television. Webb will be the premiere observatory of the next decade, serving thousands of astronomers worldwide. It will study every phase in the history of our universe, including the first luminous glows after the big bang, the formation of solar systems capable of supporting life on planets similar to Earth, and the evolution of our own solar system. Reporters can visit the observation deck in building 29 to see the Webb instruments and speak with senior project representatives once the news conference ends.
