Additional refinement needs to be done to determine whether the flight bearing was toward slightly north of west or slightly south of west. (The radar data suggests slightly north of west, but there could be some sampling bias in those images, and at least one local witness suggested a more ENE to WSW trajectory.) I'm still working on the trajectory and will post an update when I've pinned it down a little better. --Rob -----Original Message----- From: meteorite-list-bounces at meteoritecentral.com [mailto:meteorite-list-bounces at meteoritecentral.com] On Behalf Of GeoZay at aol.com Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2012 9:37 AM To: meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com Subject: [meteorite-list] Sutter Mills Flight Path Question Out of curiosity, can someone tell me which direction the meteor was traveling that produced the Sutter Mill meteorites? Was it going roughly from Coloma, Ca towards Rocklin, or the opposite? I never been able to get that pinned down.... GeoZay Received on Wed 02 May 2012 12:44:56 PM PDT |
