Even more bizarre and no offense to anyone, is that if you click his feedback (feedback left as a Seller) there are many familiar names of Buyers in the meteorite collecting community who should no better then risk taking a chance purchasing any specimens, especially after this Seller has been targeted for questionable authenticity of meteorite specimens in his auctions. * What scares me most is that the many specimens this Seller has sold over time will someday make their way back to the collecting community and most likely via future eBay auctions. These Buyers/Collectors of "lonestar meteorites" auctions, may eventually re-sell these specimens either to acquire a bigger piece or different specimen thus tainting (most likely unknowingly) other peoples meteorite collections by selling a specimen that was not what it really is. * Here again I can only express as I have done over and over again (sounding like a broken record) either on my Website, my eBay auctions or this List, the importance of PROVENANCE! I fully understand that sometimes provenance can get lost in time with paper work...it has happened to me but not very often. The importance of keeping RECORDS and your paper work of the sale, such as the Seller's name, the COA if one is supplied and the ID card etc should be first and foremost and only takes a few minutes of time! You need to have this in order to protect yourself and especially if you re-sell your meteorite. These meteorite specimens just don't grow on trees in peoples backyards! They have to have come from somewhere, someone. Ask a Seller for this specimens history information. Demand some kind of Provenance or COA, at least an ID Card and have them sign it before you even consider to bid or buy. Protect, Protect, Protect yourself and your ass-etc.! Most importantly protect your fellow meteorite collecting community from the wrongful misrepresentation of specimens being sold by speaking up and warning others such as this List the IMCA and other meteorite organizations, so we can get rid of these type plagues. Just my thoughts. * Sincerely Don Merchant Founder-Cosmic Treasures Celestial Wonders www.ctreasurescwonders.com IMCA #0960 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brandon" <b1dunovant at aol.com> To: "Metlist" <meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com> Sent: Monday, February 13, 2012 9:37 PM Subject: [meteorite-list] Bryan Scarborough still at it! > List, > > I would like to give my opinion regarding Bryan Scarborough a.k.a, > lonestar*meteorites. > > I try to give everyone the benifit of the doubt and after hearing the > questions about John/Bryan's Tissint listing I had to go and look at his > listings for myself.
