The meteoroid came from a direction less than 30 degrees elongation from the sun. The Lyrid radiant was in a very different part of the sky at the time of the fall. Could this be part of the Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1)? As this 'fall'?occurred?during the tail end of the Lyrid Meteor Shower. I have heard some of the most primitive C-Chondrites may have come from comets. ?Could this help?substantiate?this? Is there any way the main body could be traced back to the comet's dust? This discovery is amazing... just when you think the best has happened, something better?occurs. That N. American Lunar is on it's way... I just know it. All the best, Greg S. ?
