Wild guess here -

Maybe they are not intentionally going back and changing the final
prices. Maybe their bot/reader will pull a price while the auction is
progress (current bid), and then the next time the price gets "read",
the auction is closed, so instead of reporting the final winning bid,
it simply declares the previous price as the winning bid.
