I'm sorry if this rubs the "meteorite community" the wrong way, but Steve Arnold's "defense" does nothing for any of us. LANDOWNERS FIRST...Thats BEFORE profit, before overhead, and BEFORE anything else. Granted, the landowners were most likely seeing $$$ signs, and are most likely kicking themselves for signing onto a deal that left so much room for them to be left in the dust. Its just my opinion, and really, my opinion means nothing, but the 75-25 split was a bad deal for the landowners from the start, but leaving it wide open, to where the landowners have to wait for profit to come about before they see a penny, while the fox runs off with the eggs, is just plain wreckless on both party's behalves. Either way, it reflects very poorly on all of us, especially when the person in question is now a meteorite "superstar" so to speak. (Can anyone say, Cha-ching?) Granted, I DON'T know all of the details, but I do now know the feeling of having landowners
(who have seen the show) slam the door in my face, saying "We don't need no treasure hunters 'round here!" OUCH. THAT stings. Once again, just my opinion, means absolutely nothing, but suffice it to say, Mr. Arnold ought to get this square ASAP, for everyone's sake.
