NWA 6394 R3.9 Rumuruti - A single 155g stone was purchased from Morocco July 24, 2010, and most of this meteorite was sold save for a fat end piece which was just sliced by Marlin Cilz to yield 8 full slices featuring distinct chondrules and diverse inclusions and clasts. http://bigkahuna-meteorites.com/NWAxRum.html NWA 6954 L3.7 (S1,W1/2) - A single 157g stone was purchased from a Moroccan dealer in September 2011. This is a beautiful representation of an unequilibrated chondrite, featuring well-formed, medium-sized chondrules. Olivine (Fa0.7-39.3; Cr2O3 in ferroan examples is 0.02-0.09 wt.%, mean 0.03 wt.%, s.d. 0.03 wt.%, N =8), orthopyroxene (Fs2.1-24.7Wo0.3-1.3), clinopyroxene (Fs17.5Wo27.1; Fs7.3Wo45.1), sodic plagioclase, altered kamacite, chromite, troilite and taenite. http://bigkahuna-meteorites.com/NWA6954.html NWA 6955 LL6 Breccia (S2,W2) - A single 280g stone was purchased out of Moroccan in August 2011. A fresh breccia composed of angular, highly recrystallized chondrite clasts containing rare remnant partial chondrules. Olivine (Fa30.3-30.7), orthopyroxene (Fs24.3-24.7Wo1.9-2.0), clinopyroxene (Fs10.1-10.3Wo43.4?0.0) with accessory chromite, chlorapatite, kamacite (slightly stained) and troilite. An uber-gorgeous breccia that is a feast for the eyes! http://bigkahuna-meteorites.com/NWA6955.html NWA 6957 CR2 (S2,W2) - A 256g lot of 4 stones was purchased out of Moroccan in August 2011. Separated chondrules with prominent rims of altered kamacite (plus some troilite) are set in a dark brown matrix rich in cronstedtite-tochilinite. Olivine compositions are skewed to very magnesian compositions (Fa1.2-5.2), but there are much more ferroan olivines in the matrix (up to Fa67.4). Other minerals are enstatite (Fs1.3-1.8Wo0.6-4.6), Cr-Al-bearing diopside (Fs3.0Wo39.1; Fs1.2Wo42.9), altered kamacite and troilite. Oxygen isotopes determined by laser fluorination at Okayama University (d17O = -2.642, -3.316; d18O = 0.355, -0.505; D17O = -2.832, -3.055 per mil) plot on the established trend for CR chondrites. http://bigkahuna-meteorites.com/NWA6957.html If you've read this far, I will let you know that Mars has landed.
