Hi,

This is a long-evolved and complicated piece of the UFO
folklore. You appear to be referring to Vashon Island
(not "Vashion"), now referred to as the Maury Island
incident:

You will note reports of rock-like slag being dropped
and "thin sheets" of white metal, not metallic blobs.
Your old man wasn't Harold A. Dahl, was he?
