Take that green wood and touch an electric fence- ZOWEE- it does conduct electricity (personal childhood experience)! I agree with the naysayers- I do not have much faith in the technique. We have a ranch with rather deep aquifers (600 ft. or more) that does have shallow water IF you can hit one of the buried sandbars in the Ordivician limestone. Two different dowsers with considerable anecdotal reputation tried to find shallow well sites for us. We hit water at both sites- about 650 feet down.
