How would "Joe's Meteorites 10% off coupon" be different than "Victoria Secret Free undies panty coupon + $10 OFF bra" (auction currently on ebay with 2 minutes left to go - snipers, get ready!!) Paul >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Unfortunately this would not work because it seems they've thought of everything... Everything to limit the seller anyway. "...You can't refer to or promote your personal website (including links to home page web addresses that promote outside-of-eBay websites), sales outside of eBay, or other businesses..." Listing an item and then being paid outside the eBay system. - Not allowed and "...We don't allow our members to use eBay to contact each other to make offers to buy or sell items outside of eBay...." Regards, Eric ********************************************************** What if a seller sold an "option to buy" instead of the item itself? For example, suppose you have a meteorite that you expect to go for $1,000. You create a nice certificate, suitable for framing, that says the winner can buy your meteorite at 10 times the price paid for the certificate. Then, you auction the certificate. You would expect the certificate to sell for about $100, which is what ebay would calculate their FVF on, so they get nine bucks. > > Bid increments would run from 25 cents to a dollar, which equates to 2.50 and 10.00, respectively, when the option is exercised. Of course, the buyer would get credit for the price of the certificate. > > Best of all, ebay is counter-screwed. Paul Swartz Received on Thu 18 Mar 2010 01:53:52 PM PDT |
