Landowner wins custody battle for meteorite

A magistrate has handed down his ruling in a lengthy legal dispute over a meteorite that landed in south-west Queensland.

Farm caretaker Tom King found the 25 kilogram chunk of space rock last year.

However, the owner of the property where it was discovered, Keith Wilson, claimed rightful custody.

The meteorite has been held by police pending a resolution of the row.
