A magnet field may be one way of pairing specimens to certain parent bodies. Now and in the future. While it saves a lot of bending over there may come a time when a specimen's fields might be ruined in which magnetic studies may want to be done. Since there are many unique specimens found by meteorite hunters, using the canes may not be in the best interest of science and as Richard points out may allow you to miss some types of meteorites, lunites included. --AL Mitterling Mitterling Meteorites Received on Wed 25 Aug 2010 01:43:39 AM PDT |
