Maybe frustration or much to much spare time. Let's estimate the risk. If I reckon 25$ a kilo retail price for unclassified old chondrites, then the terrorists would have only to find 300 metric tons and they can buy a brand-new tank, model "Puma", in Germany! Unfortunately all registered meteorites on Earth and in history weigh together only 700 tons, whereof 90% are the 20 largest iron meteorites, and Sahara is poor in iron meteorites. And if they sell the 100kg of eucrites, which were found in this 10 years hunting in whole Sahara, they can afford to shoot with their new toy for a few times... But maybe, maybe they are right? Have you noticed, since Gaddafi was suddenly a good guy - no meteorites were found anymore in Libya.... Maybe that's the reason why they made laws, that no more meteorites should be found in Australia? conspiree & conspiraaah.. It makes me wonder what motivation they have for such comments. Im sure the big oil companies contribute far more to terrorism then the meteorite trade, but I think meteorites are an easier target due to the fact that they dont have high dollar lawyers. Like a majority of new collectors nowadays he started out on ebay and was doing research on meteorite to advance his meteorite knowledge and this website showed up telling him that terrorists were supporting NWA. After explaining to him how big of slimeballs these guys are and that they are outcasts in the meteorite community (Even banned from what I would consider the worlds most important meteorite auction - bloods tucson auction) he is OK with collecting again. I had somebody in my shop about two months ago who is a new meteorite customer and he also found this site doing research and he said (To Quote) "All NWA meteorites are found by terrorists - there are no legitimate finds". I realize that anybody can put up a website and spew out garbage (Look at all the anti sematic, pedophile and other sites out there) and the Pelisson website in my opinion falls into this catagory with the garbage. Anybody involved in meteorites is being damaged by new collectors reading this garbage and not knowing the difference. I dont have solutions because I cant force that website down but anything possible the meteorite community should do Few places in the world has benefited the poor locals more than NWA meteorites and new collectors should know that and not worry that they are supporting terrorists. I've been doing some meteorite research in general, and one website I've come across in particular is disturbing to me and I wanted your thoughts about the imformation on it. Thanks. If my link does not work the website is as follows: www.saharamet.com/meteorite/data/Sahara/NWA.html ? ? Thanks.? If you've shipped my purchase OK, if not yet, please wait until you have read this website and given me your thoughts. Thank you very much.
