I thank everyone for their responses to my posting. I am also delighted with the clear and civil nature of the responses.
It seems that my concern was largely misplaced.

I have great respect for the hunters out there getting their hands dirty to feed my obsession and without doubt, science would be poorer without them.
I suppose it's all about "how it may be made to look". you know what journalists are like. How soon is too soon? I've no idea.
