This device has the finest light detection system of any instrument in orbit by a factor of over 100 times over anything ground based. This means it can detect the difference in light intensity from a solar system that is in the constellation Cygnus with a Jupiter class planet that passes in front of the star (a transit of the sun). The planet is called HAT-P-7b. All in all, a fine tool to explore the universe. It may even be able to help answer the age old question: "Are we alone?"
