I realize that is somewhat of a wide-open question but to possibly narrow it down a bit, the name Prof. C. Floss seems to come to mind in my remembering this article. Seems like it had to do with mantle or lack of meteorites from a certain layer, or something similar. Anyone else remember this article? I'd like to read it again if I could come up with the link.
