The guessing game goes on! (And it may have been
solved, it seems.)

I was about to say to put Argentina back on the list
after I was informed that Argentina has extensive wine
regions:

Hi Sterling
You're wrong about vineyards in Argentina. There are
very large areas of the Mendoza and San Juan provinces
with them. Actually Mendoza is called the province of
the wine! There are several tours especially designed
to visit the different vineyards. It is said that the best
Malbec in the world came from here...
Eduardo

Thanks, Eduardo! You should have just posted to the
List as it now it appears that Mendoza was the spot!

There are wine growing areas everywhere. Alex Seidel
mentioned Apple Wine in Germany, but here in southern
Illinois, there is an old wine region on the lower Illinois River
Valley near me, with vineyards 150 years old, established
by German settlers that came after the 1848 unpleasantness,
now producing world-class wines with the help of California
money: http://www.illinoiscellars.com/

They produce a fine Bavarian Apple Wine, my personal
favorite, but no meteorites as yet.

Hi, Guessers,

Southern hemisphere, since the grapes are ripe. The
winegrowing latitudes contain Australia, New Zealand,
Madagascar, South Africa, Argentina, and Chile.

No point in hunting Australia as a stone may be unlikely
to leave the country. I guess the same for New Zealand.
Madagascar, South Africa, and Argentina do not have
regions "dominated" by vineyards.

That leaves Chile, which does have such regions.

McCartney, did you bring back any of the wine that
came from those vineyards? Meteorite Vineyard Wine!
