I recently bought a tiny vial of aerogel fragments on Ebay, just because I was curious. I opened it and shook a few fragments out onto my hand. Aerogel is so hygroscopic, it stuck to the moisture of my hand and was hard to shake off. Has anyone experimented with using it as a nonreactive dessicant for meteorites?
