David,
Question, how are you applying the barkeepers friend, dry or mixed with
liquid and then how do you remove the residual cleanser from the sample?
Also, have you tried this on an existing etched sample that is showing
deterioration in the quality and brightness of the etch?

I use a product called Barkeepers Friend to clean my iron slices after the
etching process and as a part of my regular maintenance.

great for cleaning stainless steel."

I don't know why but it makes the etch pop, and it seems to protect it from
rust.


It is available at Wal-Mart for around $2.50 for a "Comet" sized can.
