Because of difficulties with a downrange telemetry aircraft and the availability of a tracking ship, a launch attempt cannot be made before that time. Also, Friday's weather forecast raised the possibility that the loading of propellants aboard the Delta II rocket's second stage might not be completed in time to support a launch before Monday. The launch window for Monday is 3:56 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. EDT. According to weather forecasts, there is a 40 percent chance of unfavorable conditions for launch. If a launch attempt is targeted for Monday, the prelaunch press conference will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center press site. Media should call 321-867-2525 for launch updates, status changes and instructions on how to monitor or attend Sunday's press conference. The press conference and launch will be broadcast live on NASA Television. For more information about Dawn, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/dawn -end- Received on Fri 06 Jul 2007 05:52:45 PM PDT |
