A native, who witnessed its fall, states that about 9, A. M. a stone fell from the heavens, accompanied by a very loud report, burying itself in the earth knee-deep, and at the same time the sky was cloudy and of a murky color, the air calm, and no rain. The stone has been forwarded by the Government to the Asiatic Society of Bengal. (end) PDF copy of this article us available upon e-mail request. The NPA in the subject line stands for Newspaper Article. The old list server allowed us a search feature the current does not, so I guess this is more for quick reference and shortening the subject line now.
