I know the guy whose face is on this meteorite, but I can't recall his name... > scientists from Hardin Simmons University... confirm it is real. And those scientists at Hardin Simmons University, otherwise known as The Abilene Baptist College, would they be the scientists that teach the four semesters of physics that the "university" offers (on alternate years) or the one semester of General Introduction to Astronomy? Could be an Ebay NWA instead of a true meteorwrong, but I don't see no face. http://www.nbc5i.com/news/14867810/detail.html Man Displays Meteorite With Image Of Jesus CELINA, Texas -- An Abilene man who recently moved to Collin County said he wants to share his gift from the heavens with North Texans. Terrance Cotton said he wished on what he thought was falling star outside his Abilene home while playing with his dogs. The object headed toward him at lighting speed, he said. "There was this cracking sound, and it was really loud," Cotton said. A meteorite crashed into his yard. "I heard a voice, and it said, 'Look and see if you can see a face,'" he said. "And I looked, and I saw an image of Jesus Christ." It made headlines in Abilene when it happened almost a year ago. Dozens of people come to his home to see it. "I've had people look at it, and they can't look at it anymore; it's too much," Cotton said. "And I've had people come in and say they can't see it." Cotton said he has seen the changes in his life. He is at peace, he said. He hopes the meteorite can be studied. "I believe science needs to take a look at this and study it to see what it means," Cotton said. He had scientists from Hardin Simmons University look at the meteorite and confirm it is real. Several people have offered to buy it for thousands of dollars, Cotton said. ______________________________________________ http://www.meteoritecentral.com Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list Received on Mon 17 Dec 2007 12:01:21 AM PST |
