Expedition crew will visit Uglovsky and Egorievsky districts, where an unknown celestial body has fallen. Head of the expedition claims he did not believe data obtained by "Kosmopoisk" (Space Search) crew. Scientists says only Meteorite Committee can make the final decision whether found rocks were meteorites. "Kosmopoisk" crew has recently announced about discovery of meteorite fragments and passing them to the Meteorite Committee for further analysis. However, there is no information about any analysis performed to date. Researchers plan to specify meteorite's flight trajectory for calculating its impact point. Only after that scientists will starts searching for meteorite or its fragments. Received on Wed 29 Aug 2007 04:36:46 PM PDT |
