You as all-time collector haven't you noticed, that one dealer after the other disappears? To little appreciation or money for the hard work. Look who had quit, is going to quit or turns at present to other business fields: - New - Nikicher - Carion - Kroth - Labennes - Zeitschel - Sinclair - Cisneros - Sprich - Eisler senior - Pittman - Burkhard - Kempton - Stehlin - Cintron - Killgore - McCall - B?hler - Franco - Wampfler - Matteo - Fectay - Pellison - Cahill - Bessey (- Does that Farrell still exist?) Now Elliott. With the fading out of the desert supply additionally all those who grew with the desert will disappear too. In a few years you won't find almost no professional meteorite dealers anymore. Only a small oligopoly. And a few collectors, selling here and there a piece. Will be boring times for the Armandos of the world. But Chladni's star will shine! Best! A dear meteorite friend of mine just suggested sort of an "April 1st joke" to me, regarding this message. But look for yourself. Then again this could be some internet piracy - or is it indeed true? Who knows..?? Well, Rob will know! :-) Alex Berlin/Germany -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Datum: Wed, 04 Apr 2007 17:26:19 +0200 Von: "Alexander Seidel" <gsac at gmx.net> An: meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com Betreff: [meteorite-list] Rob Elliott retiring as seller (?!) This is what looks to be hot news somehow... I just stumbled upon a short note on Rob Elliott?s ("Fernlea") website, which I was occasionally surfing to. Has anyone any more detail on this? Alex Berlin/Germany ----citation from Rob?s website:--- "Hi folks! My entire meteorite collection/inventory has just been sold to a collector, wishing to own a World class meteorite collection of their own. After 10 years as a full-time, professional meteorite dealer, I'm pleased to announce that I'm now retiring as a seller. I won't be leaving meteorites completely, although from now on, my emphasis will be on hunting, rather than dealing in meteorites. I will of course be honouring all part-paid sales & on-hold deals that were agreed before today. I'll leave my sales pages online for the pictures & information, but I can't sell you anything! :-). My thanks to all my customers, past and present.......not only for their business, but also for their enthusiasm in the World's greatest hobby. Rob Elliott" ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list Received on Wed 04 Apr 2007 12:18:08 PM PDT |
