I just thought I would clear this up. Thanks, Joe Kerchner ----- Original Message ---- From: Joe <kerchner420_at_yahoo.com> To: meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com Sent: Monday, October 23, 2006 4:31:33 PM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Mega-Chondrule Hello List, This is a piece that I thought was considered duel lithogy, but I was told by a pretty relible person that the dark part is an inclusion, maybe even a chondrule, or a "DI" Dark Inclusion. The first link is to a photo of the main mass cut in half. The second link shows multiple photos of each half. This is a very interesting piece. The full stone was 163.8 grams. The dark part (chondrule,or incllusion,or different loithogy) covers about 40-45% of the stone. The 2 halves. http://illinoismeteorites.com/images/duellith5.JPG Multiple photos of each stone, main mass, and descriptions. http://illinoismeteorites.com/saharanmeteorites.htm Thanks, Joe Kerchner, http://illinoismeteorites.com ----- Original Message ---- From: Jeff Kuyken <info_at_meteorites.com.au> To: PolandMET <marcin_at_polandmet.com>; meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com Sent: Monday, October 23, 2006 3:49:56 AM Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Mega-Chondrule Hi Marcin, Good thread! NWA 2892 is a hard one to beat for Macrochondrules! This slice has a 13.5mmx11mm chondrule. http://www.meteorites.com.au/favourite/august2005.html And NWA 4040 has some very large pale ('bright') inclusions. This one is 38mmx28mm at widest points. http://www.meteorites.com.au/favourite/september2006.html Cheers, Jeff ----- Original Message ----- From: PolandMET To: meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com Sent: Monday, October 23, 2006 3:22 AM Subject: [meteorite-list] Mega-Chondrule So If we are at this very interesting topic, maybe we make a little competition ? Who have the biggest: a) complete chondrule (Gujba rulez ?) b) strange inclusion (exclude breccia fragments ofcourse) ad A) My chondrule You know, I have the mirror slice of this one from ebay. size 9x9mm B) Here is my slice that I show maybe one year ago. Its slice with the biggest inclusion http://www.meteoryt.net/ebay/nwa4432_inclusion.jpg Size 30x23mm, non chondritich inclusion.
