Stardust experiences really put both meteorites and solar system evolution into perspective. I cannot wait until the results go public. Speaking of pens, I received a two of the pens you have pictured, but also, I got one of commemorative encounter pens during a training in Salt Lake City a couple years ago. A team of us had to win a spacecraft design competition in order to even have a shot at a pen. Here is a pic: http://www.geocities.com/planetwhy/sd_pen.jpg It is a heavy stainless steel and carbon fiber instrument with an inlay of the comet encounter date and Success at Wild2! Very few these pens were made, and the added challenge of having to win a competition just to have a chance at one makes this one of my most favorite Stardust souviners (after the memories of course). http://www.meteoritetimes.com/Back_Links/2006/February/Accretion_Desk.htm Cheers, Martin Received on Wed 08 Mar 2006 11:35:53 AM PST |
