Just a note about the Saint Marie aux Mines mineral
show in France last week.

Jim Strope and I attended the show every day mixed
with tourism of the area's many medieval towns and
endless vineyards.

The show was the largest ever, with over 900
exhibitors and many others who just show up and barter
for a booth. There were not many meteorite dealers
there, among them, Labenne, Hans Koser, Erich
Haiderer, Karl Sprich, Ali Hmani, numerous Moroccan
dealers, Comet Meteorite Shop, and some others.

What was most interesting was the virtual absence of
Moroccan chondrites. I would say in total there was
less than 100 kilograms there, not including what Ali
Hmani had (with his usual above retail prices).

Another meteorite that was almost absent was Seymchan.
One Russian fossil dealer had a few kilos, mostly
iron, but some pallasite. I bought some kilos of
spectacular pallasite material and am preparing it for
sale now by having it cut in Germany.

The meteorite gold rush is clearly over, and for the
next few year you will see a harsh downturn in
material available.
