Probably an example of 'double' or 'dual' orientation which I've seen quite a few of in SA and Taza. http://www.meteorites.com.au/features/taza2.html I've also got a Sikhote with a similar feature. I believe it has something to do with the air pressure/pocket at the leading point of a stable flight individual. Maybe any existing hollow/pit that was there before (or in early) atmospheric entry is accentuated?! What's everyone's opinion on this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6636585578 To me, the sides of the "crater" look too smooth and not like other examples I've seen (including the ones mentioned here). Coincidental shape, or a "crater" that has had the edges somehow "smoothed" (either atmosphericly or during cleaning)? ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list Received on Sun 18 Jun 2006 03:10:00 AM PDT |
