If your standard 1mg (.001 gram) scale is not accurate
enough for you then your best bet is probably moving
up to scales used by the jewelry trade which is
accurate to 4 decimal places (.0005ct or .1mg or .0001
gram - I think I have that right but its ten times
more accurate than your standard mg scale).
This will cost you probably $3000 to $5000 wholesale
though as extreme accuracy like that dont come cheap
but such a thing is available. You might see something
cheaper occasionally but these things lose their
accuaracy pretty easily (Especially if you plan to
drag them around with you) and if you try and buy
something cheap you are proabbly better off with a
good quality standard mg scales for $500 or $1000
(Which you sometimes see for $200 to $300 but my
experience is the cheap $250 ones dont keep their
accuracy for long)
Unfortunately I am not sure where I can send you to
buy one. I see them (And could buy one if I wanted to)
every year at the september Bangkok and Hong kong gem
and jewelry shows (Which you have to prove that you
are a gem or jewelry dealer or they wont let you in).
I wasnt interested enough to grab a brochure to know
where I could buy one after the show was over.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
DEAN
