WSFA TV (Montgomery, Alabama) April 5, 2006 WSFA News 12 has been inundated with calls this morning about a loud bang in the Montgomery area. Reports from callers say houses and windows shook just before 7 a.m. with what some have described as a something similar to a sonic boom. Calls came in from a variety of areas in the city including the Harrison Road, Selbrook, Birmingham Highway, and Fisk Road areas. At first it was thought maybe an aircraft coming in for the Maxwell AFB air show had something to do with it, but according to Maxwell AFB they have received similar cars and do not know what may have caused the loud noise. The Montgomery Police Department has also received calls and as yet has no answer as to what the noise was. Some folks think the sound is related to the Prattville fire; however, a check with the Prattville Fire Department says no, it didn't come from their area. If you have any information on what created this sound, please click on the Help us Report the News link at left and we will check it out. http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=4274412&nav=0RdE Received on Wed 05 Apr 2006 02:35:14 PM PDT |
