I know this is off topic. If anyone can help me
appraise the value of these it would be greatly
appreciated. Not shure where to list them with a
starting value.

These I have had in my possession for over 30 years.

I was given the original planning maps and notes for
Apollo 15 from and by the late Dr. Eugene Shoemaker.
They were given to me in I think 1973, and since
stored in my closet.

They are very large mylar photographs the largest
measuring 7.5 feet by 3 feet.

And there are numerous hand written notes in red along
lines of where the Apollo 15 rover was to travel and
what was to be observed there.

There are also transparent overlays with numerous
craters in India ink. And notes pertaining to such.
There are also smaller mylar prints of specific areas
that were to be explored in this mission.

I think that this set is probably unique, as it may be
the only pre-mission planning photo-maps of the Apollo
15 mission, and perhaps all of the Apollo missions,
including Apollo 11.

Dr. Shoemaker was a friend of mine and he gave me
these while I was
working at Lowell Observatory as a student over 30
years ago.

(They were to be discarded sometime after the mission
and he thought that I might want them)

Here are some links showing a portion of 7.5' x 3'
with the overlay. The path of the rover is shown. A
person in Germany pointed out that this was indeed the
pre-mission map as the path shown differs from the one
that was actually traveled on the moon, as the
astronauts got lost and off track from the pre-planned
path.

Anyway, this is but a small portion of the main photo
and overlay. There are several other overlays with
this set.

The photos that I have made do not do the set justice.
