It's the first french hexahedrite, weighing only 14.9g. It was found in 2004 near the city of Colmar (Alsace) and was not identified at first as a meteorite. It was placed in boxes along with several hot rocks and pseudometeorites at the Planetarium of Epinal. Then, in february 2005, a meteorite probably fell in Alsace (which has not been found). The Planetarium of Epinal made an exhibition to show people how to recognize meteorites. Among the pseudo-meteorites which were exhibited then, someone recognized the 14.9g piece as a meteorite. The Laboratory of Strasbourg analyzed this piece and certified that it was an hexahedrite. The meteorite will be kept at the Planetarium of Epinal. I hope they will register it in the Meteoritical Bulletin. It's name could be "Val d'Orbey", the place where it was found...
