Meteorite impacts topic of conference

The SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) Research Conference, "The
Sedimentary Record of Meteorite Impacts," will take place Saturday
through Monday at the Lamplighter Inn & Suites North.

Specialists from across the globe are scheduled to attend. Conference
sessions will range from the processes and products of meteorite impacts
into sedimentary rocks to the mechanics of meteorite impact ejection and
sedimentation.

Findings will be presented in regard to an impact site north of Bolivar
called the Weaubleau-Osceola structure.

The conference will conclude with a field trip to the Weaubleau-Osceola
structure on Saturday.
