Hi Jeffery,

Jefferson is certainly one of the founding fathers I look up to and you
are right, we sure need more like him today in the political arena.

Interesting post on Jefferson and what he probably really said. I have
heard that the quote: "I would rather believe that two Yankee professors
would lie than believe that stones would fall from heaven." was
something overheard (by servants?) (I have no sources).

Perhaps Jefferson was making light of the event and someone took it
seriously. Since he was a scientist and curious about nature, I doubt he
would have dismissed the event so easily without reasonable study and
questioning of the witnesses.
