Hello list and Norm, Norm noted: "this is not Darwin Crater (with the Darwin Glass) which lies in Tasmania." You are correct, sorry about that not sure how I could forget Tasmania. It appears the article is referring to Wolfe Creek crater, aka Wolf Creek. This crater was discovered by air in 1947. It probley just took till 1950 or thereabouts to confirm the crater's origin.
