The density of the sphere is only 4.2 kg/dm3. If it was Iron and nickel it should have a density of 7.8 kg/dm3. To me it looks like a sphere of pyrrhotite or nickel ore, hard to tell without holding it. Clearly an earth rock and not an iron meteorite. I mailed the seller asking if it really could be an iron meteorite and got a vague answer back. "I sourced my meteorites from a local dealer for many years and I sold to lots of shamans and reiki masters in the UK and USA indeed." Freely translated as : "I have no clue of what I'm selling, I was fooled by my local dealer". ;-) /G?ran Darren Garrison wrote: >This can't possibly be the real thing, can it? > >http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5021584192 >______________________________________________ >Meteorite-list mailing list >Meteorite-list_at_meteoritecentral.com >http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list > > > Received on Tue 09 Aug 2005 02:46:16 PM PDT |
