I am mainly concerned with the quality of the specimen, its rarity and its scientific value. I have well documented falls from the Haag collection that aren't selling for the same price per gram as recent African falls, go figure?. There is no rhyme or reason to current prices because the so-called "market" is very thin but showing signs of recovery, especially in the European market. Ninninger labeled irons are selling for 1/10th the price of Saharan irons, go figure again? The NWA gold rush is definitely over, ask any dealer who has been there recently. My prediction is there will be more finds coming out of North America than Northwest Africa within one year. I will qualify this statement late next week. Not trying to start something here, just stating what I believe to be true.
